Italian food blogs to whet your appetite

Take a look at the blog’s right-hand column and you’ll see that I’ve swapped out a general blogroll for a new listing of Italian food-specific blogs.

When I journeyed into the blogosphere (does anyone use that term anymore?) to find Italian food blogs, these three stood out immediately. They have beautiful food photos, delicious recipes, and all-around great ideas for cooking Italian food at home.

Here’s a closer look at the blogs:

Italian Food Forever – This writer married into an Italian family and later moved to Milan for eight years! She publishes step-by-step recipes that put novice cooks at ease, including a tutorial on homemade gnocchi made simple.

Proud Italian Cook - Having recently discovered the joys of spaghetti squash, this post immediately caught my eye. What’s going to keep me coming back? The down home culinary style (and colorfully decadent meals) of this easy-to-read Italian cook.

The Italian Dish – What’s not to love about these lush food photos? But what really grabbed my attention on this blog: a post on how to make homemade ricotta cheese. I never thought I’d be able to make my own ricotta, but The Italian Dish offers real foodie inspiration.

I hope you get as much out of these blogs as I did. And keep checking back — I’ll add to the Italian food blog list as I discover more delectable sites.
